The PIM combines our custom design with the fl exibility of our portable controls. UL 508A Listed panels can be installed into any structure where portability is not required. Panels can be built to run any number of chain motors, fi xed or variable speed. Motors can be run manually, with DMX interface, or with programmed movement. Each package is designed and built to order to suit the project specifi cation. The units are shipped as a turnkey package with wiring and operator instructions to enable the electrical contractor and project manager to complete the installation. The standard manual hoist control package consists of the following elements:

PIM - Relay control in a NEMA 1 rated enclosure with control power on/off keyswitch with indicator light and an emergency stop button mounted on the door. Panels can be ordered with individual hoist selection and run capability on the panel. Our panels are UL and C/UL 508A Listed.

PIJ-HST – Junction boxes are supplied for mounting next to each motor. Hubbell Twist-lock connectors or other connectors are wired and ready to accept conduit wiring to the control panel and to the circuit breaker panel.

PIJ-REM – This junction box for the remote handset cable is desirable when the PIM is not conveniently located. Conduit connects the PIM with the PIJ-REM. Our standard Tajimi connector is used on packages up to 8 channels. Other multipin connectors are used for larger packages.

P-HCS - Remote run handset and cable are a standard element of the PIM package. The same handsets offered with our portable controls are used for this package. Examples shown in our ‘Remotes’ section. Run stations, either hand-held or wired into consoles, can be designed in custom confi gurations as needed. Programmable handsets to create grouping are also available.

TOUCHSCREEN DISPLAY CONTROL - Operation of a large number of chain motors is made manageable using one of our touchscreen displays. TDC enables manual hoist selection and running in the same way as a conventional toggle switch operated run station, but requires a fraction of the cabling.
Touchscreen operation enables features unavailable with conventional remotes, such as the ability to create and name hoist groups. Hoist encoders are not required for this type of operation. Position feedback, cueing and variable speed control are enhanced features requiring our quadrature encoders in the chain motor.
Variable speed control can be performed using hoists with integrated inverters or standard chain hoists with external inverters. TDC can be used to operate any ac or dc winch.
Load monitoring, using our load cells, is offered. High and low weight limits can be set. Readouts show individual and total weight feedback with peak load tracking.
An array of touchscreen displays are offered to suit the user’s needs and budget. All operator stations have a mushroom head emergency stop button and a momentary run button. On/off keyswitch can be provided.
The entire package can be configured for permanent installation or for portable use. The TDC can be handheld, rack mounted, be in a tabletop console or mounted on a conduit-fed enclosure. Control units have C/UL 508A listing.
